Add a Spring back into your step - Spring Wedding planning inspiration

Emily's Lollies

The world has completely turned and everybody is having to make changes to their everyday lives and daily routines. Every single person will be dealing with the situation differently, and for all those engaged people who were excited for planning their wedding and visiting wedding fayres etc, we can completely understand that this must be very deflating for you.

Something else did change though this weekend and this was the weather! What a beautiful weekend full of sunshine it was! We decided that this week, we will be assisting with getting your planning motivation back by bringing some spring Wedding inspiration for you, whether you are thinking about a Spring wedding or would just like to add a Spring theme to your day!

Colour Schemes and Inspiration:

Greys, Silvers and White:

Classic choice, simple but elegant.

Add a touch of gypsophila to your bridal parties hair styles to add floral elements, giving a Spring feel, as Natalie has here.

Emma has caught the brilliance of these blue bridesmaids dresses, perfect for a Spring day. You can pair the pale blue with a deeper, duck egg blue and silver, white, ivory or heather.

If you are lucky to have a sunny spring Wedding, the colour of the dresses will look amazing in photos next to a blue sky!

Blush Pink and Sage Green:

One of our personal favourites and very popular right now! Blush pink and sage green work so well together to give a fresh, clean feel to your day, perfect in Spring! Pair with deeper pinks, greens and creams.

Lee-Ann Newton at Deliciously Divine:

Think bringing the outside in....wood, leaves, flowers, all the natural colours of browns, greens and creams. Great for a Spring, rustic style Wedding.

Laura at City Bumpkin Cakes:

So on trend right now and will make any space whether marquee/tipi/barn smell incredible! Again, great for a rustic style Wedding, simple but effective. Pair with a natural cream or beige, heather and ivory or white.

Coral and Blue:

Want something brighter? Coral could be perfect for you, especially mixed with teal or pale blue. You could even opt for pale pinks or beige and add coral in a few elements of your day, just to add a slight touch of a bright colour. For instance, a paler colour for your Bridesmaids dresses but with coral coloured flowers in their hair, flower crown or corsage. Another example would be in this cake by Deliciously Divine - Lee-Anne has added a splash of colour onto a white cake which makes the idea of a simplistic cake really stand out on a spring day.

Farm Animals:

We managed a Wedding last year which had a very special guest...Alpacas! Emily and Alex just loved the idea of bringing the farm to their day and we really think if farm yard animals are your thing, they would be the perfect guests to really add a Spring feel...they were a massive hit and had a LOT of selfies that day! Think alpacas, lambs, donkeys...

Our favourite subject....think of light and Spring flavours for your sponge cake, lemon, carrot, rose water, or even lavender. Lavender sponge with lemon buttercream is one of our favourites! Give it a try!

Keep it simple with small touches, such as this cake featuring a reoccurring pattern and an arrangement of flowers matching the colour scheme.

Why not think about a semi naked cake? Simplistic and perfect for a spring Wedding

Gemma has added wildflowers on this invitation for a Spring wedding. This beautiful design will really bring a feel for the season to your guests when they are reading through your wedding details.

Gemma at Urzan Myne:

Wedding favours can really bring a feel of your Wedding theme to your tables, there are some great options out there on the market, take a look at some of the favour ideas we have had below:

  • Pots of honey - perfect as the honeybees start to make honey in the Spring season 'Bee Mine'...

  • Macaroons - pale colours with Spring flavours

  • Mini plants and succulents - bringing the outside in

  • Packets of seeds - 'let love grow'

  • Mini pots of jam - using spring flavours, strawberry and raspberry 'spread our love'

  • Mini Easter Eggs - think Creme egg size...we have whole other blog on Easter ideas but you could add a slight hint of an Easter egg in your Spring wedding

  • Lollipops - beautiful colours and just like Emily's lolly design below, you can add edible petals and flavourings so they not only look beautiful on your tables, but they are also yummy!

Add a delicate touch of music to really set the scene of your Wedding theme, whether to your guests entering your ceremony and during the ceremony, between the ceremony and the Wedding breakfast during the drinks reception or during your Wedding breakfast. A harpist would be perfect for any Spring theme, to really add a touch of sophistication.

Rebecca at All Things Harp:

The weather can be so hit and miss during spring but it really is such a lovely season to hold a Wedding. Whether you are getting married in summer or winter, you can never really guarantee the weather in the UK! I would advise for any time of year that you purchase some photo worthy umbrellas! Photographers can really make some amazing shots with them!

Welcome to Spring!
